Compact Luxury Goes Head to Head - Compare the Lincoln Corsair to the Competition in Austin, TX

While SUVs and crossovers get smaller and smaller these days, the Lincoln lineup gets more and more luxurious. At Covert Lincoln, where we're proud to bring drivers in the greater Austin area the latest in world-class Lincoln refinement, we're finding a lot to love about one of our smallest models, the Lincoln Corsair.

The Corsair is a compact SUV that's big on style and luxury. It comes with a long list of standard features that drivers appreciate, and it delivers comfort and a range of fun-to-drive powertrains as well. Read on to learn more about this impressive option from Lincoln and see everything it has to offer alongside competing models from other well-known brand names.

The Lincoln Corsair vs. the Cadillac XT4

The two smallest SUVs in their respective lineups, the Corsair and the XT4 seem to have a lot in common at first glance. Both seat five people in two rows. Both get base power from four-cylinder engines. Both come from recognizable and renowned luxury brand names. But, dive a little deeper, as we have, and you'll discover a number of areas where the Lincoln Corsair comes out ahead of the competition.

Performance

All models in the Cadillac XT4 lineup get the same turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine under their hood. It kicks out 237 horsepower for Georgetown and Cedar Park drivers and has all-wheel drive available. But the Lincoln Corsair goes above and beyond to deliver a range of impressive engine options, each one of which delivers the qualities drivers are looking for. The lineup starts with a more-powerful, 250-horsepower four-cylinder engine, and it includes other choices, such as an innovative and efficient hybrid option, which the Cadillac SUV doesn't have.

Safety

When it comes to protecting you and helping you arrive at your Round Rock and Pflugerville destinations safely, the Lincoln Corsair has more of the latest, high-tech safety features standard than the Cadillac XT4. For example, every Corsair gets standard blind-spot monitoring and standard rear cross-traffic alert. But neither of these are standard with the XT4 and, in fact, are only available on upper trims.

Interior and Tech Features

Not only does the Lincoln crossover get more safety features standard, it also delivers more of the high-end creature comforts and tech amenities that drivers want than the Cadillac XT4. Slip inside the Lincoln Corsair, and immerse yourself in its well-crafted interior, which has more space to stretch out in than the Cadillac and comes with more great features, such as heated seats, which are only listed as optional for the XT4.

Design

Both compact crossovers, these two models are easy to park and maneuver, but offer the style and versatility of an SUV. They have four doors, two rows of seating, and a power-operated liftgate that comes standard in the rear. But their similarities end there. The Lincoln Corsair stands out from the competition with its signature Lincoln emblem and front grille, and it measures a little taller than the Cadillac as well. For you on the inside, this larger exterior translates to a more useful cargo hold, with the Corsair holding up to 27.6 cubic feet, compared to the XT4 cargo space of 22.5 cubic feet, and it also gives you greater amounts of headroom and shoulder room so that even your tallest passengers are comfortable on long road trips.
